Volunteer’s floral displays stolen by vandals

-

Cameras are being turned to a town’s flowerbeds in a bid to catch those behind a bizarre string of overnight thefts targeting plants in Ross-shire.

Police are probing the theft of flowers from planters prepared by unpaid volunteers over several weeks in Dingwall.

About 30 plants have been taken since the start of April. The most recent was uprooted on Thursday.

The floral displays lovingly maintained by Dingwall in Bloom volunteers have been credited with boosting the town’s appeal for locals and visitors.
