Summer Holiday
Midsummer; and with a toot-toot, it’s time to board the bus once piloted by a young Cliff Richard, as this new stage version of the much loved 1963 film arrives in Edinburgh. This time around, Brookside and X Factor star Ray Quinn plays Don, the young London bus driver who converts an old double-decker and heads for the sun with his chums; and with Sixties pop classics like Living Doll, Bachelor Boy and The Young Ones on the playlist, the scene seems set for the most lighthearted of summer shows, full of sun, sand, and an enjoyable sense of nostalgia. Playhouse, Edinburgh, 19-23 June, 0844 871 3014 and King’s Theatre, Glasgow, 30 October until 3 November, 0141-240 1111
