Scotland football legend avoids going bust

-

Scotland legend James Mcfadden has avoided bankruptcy after settling outstanding debts to the taxman.

The ex-motherwell and Everton striker, 35, faced the threat of going bust if he failed to reach an agreement with HMRC over unpaid tax.

Mcfadden had revealed he was seeking help from a close relative as he attempted to raise the funds he needed to stay solvent.

A sequestration hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday heard he has cleared his debt after the case ran into extra time.
