Flying high: Lufthansa latest airline linked with possible Norwegian bid

-

Shares in Norwegian Air Shuttle took off in Oslo after the boss of Lufthansa signalled the German airline could be interested in taking over the lowcost carrier. Carsten Spohr said that Lufthansa has made contact with Norwegian amid talk of consolidation in the sector. “In Europe, everyone is talking to everyone. There’s a new wave of consolidation approaching. That means we are also in contact with Norwegian. Takeovers are always a question of strategic value, the price and anti-trust. There are no easy answers,” he said.
