Man stabbed by gang while sitting in van

A man is in a serious condition in hospital being treated for stab wounds after he was attacked by a gang near Bishopbriggs.

The 30-year-old was in the passenger seat of a grey Vauxhall Combo van in Torrance, East Dunbartonshire, when an Audi stopped in front of the vehicle. A group of men armed with knives got out, smashed the passenger window of the van and assaulted the victim in what police said was a targeted attack.

The 34-year-old van driver left, and was later found at the Asda on Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs.
