Woman grabbed from behind in beach assault

A woman has been indecently assaulted by a man who grabbed her from behind as she walked near an East Lothian beach.

The 59-year-old woman was on the public footpath leading from car park one to car park two in Longniddry Bents when the man assaulted her about 4:25pm on Tuesday.

She screamed and he fled the scene.

Police have described the man as white and in his 50s, around 5ft 9in tall and of large or overweight build. He was wearing a white polo shirt with different coloured hoops and grey jogging bottoms.
