City streets shut for Clean Air Day
Thousands of people have taken part in celebrations across Scotland to mark Clean Air Day, with the capital pledging to introduce regular vehiclefree days.
Crowds gathered in places such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee for the events.
Sections of The Mound and George Street were closed to cars in Edinburgh yesterday.
The events formed part of a Uk-wide initiative to encourage people into active travel and electric cars to cut air pollution.
