Hydro scheme floated to draw Loch Ness water
Developers have proposed a hydro storage scheme that would involve drawing water from Loch Ness to generate enough power for 400,000 homes.
Theplanhasbeenflagged for a site south of Dores.
The Red John project would create up to 300 jobs and be run by Hamilton-based Intelligent Land Investments (ILI). A 100m underground “power cavern” would be built.
Details are due to go on display at the Dores Community Hall next week.
