Teen rescued from ‘precarious’ spot in gorge
A teenager has been rescued after getting trapped in a river gorge near Ben Nevis.
The 16-year-old boy was taking part in a Duke of Edinburgh Award challenge on Wednesday with a group of about 15 trekkers. A member of the party walked for more than an hour to get a mobile phone signal to call for help.
Inverness Coastguard helicopter crew winched the teen to safety after he got stuck near a fast-flowing waterfall.
He had got stuck in a “precarious position” while trying to cross the river, the coastguard said.
