Speak for yourself

-

It is high time Nicola Sturgeon, Ian Blackford and all SNP members of Parliament and SNP members of the Scottish Parliament ceased using the term, “The people of Scotland” as if they are speaking for the population of Scotland. The result of the 2014 referendum proved that the SNP do not speak for the majority of Scots and this is one proud resident of Scotland they most certainly do not speak for.

I am utterly ashamed, angry and embarrassed at the country which has evolved under the SNP reign. The anger and blame culture which they have built their case for separation on has affected virtually everyone and I fear the divisions will never be repaired.

Alex Salmond and Ms Sturgeon have created a hostile environment which is indefensible. How much more satisfactory would it have been had they worked with the Westminster Government for the benefit of “the people of Scotland” as a successfully devolved nation and part of the United Kingdom. Of course, Ms Sturgeon did confirm in 2016 that independence was more important than any other aspect of government – that says it all.

Andrew Wilson’s Growth Commission report has confirmed that an independent Scotland would face austerity and financial insecurity for a long, long time and eminent economists have agreed with this. The only reason SNP supporters are happy about this is that the heart rules the head, after all, it is the emotional dream of independence which drives Nicola Sturgeon – how undisputedly irresponsible.
