So “Bank bosses tell MSPS they do not consult public over branch closures” (your report, 19 June). I have to say that the bank bosses are wrong here.

The Access to Banking Protocol drawn up by the Westminste­r government by Harriet Baldwin and Anna Soubry clearly states that in the event of a bank closure consultati­on of its customers and businesses has to take place. The alternativ­e banking procedures have to be discussed and the results of these surveys have to be published.
