Livingston look to Miller to become player/manager

- By ANGUS WRIGHT

Kenny Miller is poised to fill the managerial vacancy at Livingston, with the former Rangers striker expected to be confirmed as the newly promoted Premiership club’s player/manager later this week.

It will be a first manager’s job for the 69-times capped former Scotland striker who left Rangers in acrimonious circumstances when his contract expired in May.

Miller, 38, will succeed David Hopkin, who guided Livingston to back-toback promotions before stepping down last month.

The West Lothian club have been busy strengthening prior to Miller’s expected arrival. Ryan Hardie has completed his return, joining on a season-long loan from Rangers. The forward was part of the Livingston side that earned promotion to the top flight last season and is back for a second spell.

Hardie, a Scotland youth international, made seven appearances for Rangers last season before moving to Livingston in the second half of the campaign and scoring eight in 17 games in all competitions.
