The Scotland Office plans to fly the England flag during World Cup matches involving Gareth Southgate’s side. Scottish Secretary David Mundell confirmed the decision following Theresa May’s request that the St George’s Cross be flown on public buildings up and down the country. @brucekinabalu said: “This only goes to demonstrate how out of touch the Scotland Office is with the people of Scotland.” @lindagaryryan said: “As a Scot I see no problem with St George flag been flown from every building in England and they should be proud, same as if Scotland has got that far we would be flying the St Andrews flag.” @Henriklubo said: “Absolutely ridiculous, why on earth would we fly the England flag?” @Liamjohnbell said: “Don’t see a problem with it. The nonsense about ‘anyone but England’ is the acceptable face of anglophobia.” @yashin19 said: “Assume we’re flying the flag of Belgium, another of our close neighbours?” @Ramsay59 said: “If Wales were the only Home Nation in the World Cup then no one would bat en eyelid at Welsh flag being flown over Scotland Office. So stop this ridiculous fuss over England one.”

ZERO defeats. ZERO red cards. ZERO on-field tantrums. A changed man.” @senorsoupe said: “To be fair to Willo, if someone offered me a job where it’s sunny and warm most days I would take it too” @smokie123321 said: “Is he getting a testimonial?” @Jtsingapore said: “Can’t believe anyone would choose Bali over Dunfermline!” @jimmyhadman said: “Did not think Willo Flood would be trending during the World Cup” @daztroon said: “Will the fans that bought a Willo Flood replica top be allowed to swap for the next weeklong signing?”
