SUPERBIKES ROAR INTO KNOCKHILL

-

The stars of British motorcycling are heading to Scotland this weekend as Knockhill plays host to the British Superbike Championship.

Championship leader Leon Haslam will be looking to cement his position at the top of the leaderboard with a strong performance at the Fife circuit but will face stiff competition from the likes of Bradley Ray, Shane Byrne and Josh Brooks.

Around 15,000 fans are expected to head to Knockhill to watch the action in the fifth round of the BSB Championship along with a host of support races.

Three days of action kick off with free practice on Friday before a series of support races and qualifying for the BSB races on Saturday.

Sunday will see nine British championship races including Superbikes, Superstock 1000s, Junior Supersports, Superstock 600s Monostar and Sidecars as well as the main event’s two races.

Among those lining up on the Superbike grid will be Scottish brothers Taylor and Tarran Mackenzie, sons of triple Superbike champion Niall Mackenzie.

In the Supersport 600 support race, 16-year-old Rory Skinner, from Perth, will make his Supersport debut following several successful outings on the Kawasaki in Scottish championship races.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out on the 600 and racing in front of my home fans,” said Rory.

“Being part of the British Talent Cup is a great opportunity but with only six race weekends it is important to get some more meetings under my belt, especially as there are over two months to the next round.”

Tickets are £18/£10 for Saturday, £31/£18 for Sunday or £39/£20 for both days. Under-12s go free and camping tickets are also available from knockhil.com.
