Pie in the sky

-

On BBC Sunday Politics, SNP MP Stephen Gethin said before supporting a second EU referendum the SNP want to know up front what would happen if Scotland voted Remain and the overall UK vote was Leave.

He avoided saying Scotland should be granted independence, or granted Indyref2. Instead he said “there are lots of ways of Scotland staying in the EU” by which I assume he meant their White Paper options of Scotland remaining a full member of the EU but staying in the UK.

So they don’t support another Brexit referendum, they wouldn’t make Indyref2 a condition of of it anyway, and they’ve been told by all sides their “In the UK, in the EU” option is pie in the sky.

The only conclusion is they want to destroy the whole process so the UK will collapse and an independent Scotland will somehow emerge from the wreckage..

Unfortunately time and the ineptness of MPS Christine Jardine and Paul Sweeney saved him from admitting this. ALLAN SUTHERLAND Willow Row, Stonehaven
