Prime Minister must erase court’s red line to get ‘mission critical’ EU deal on data

Theresa May has been urged by MPS to erase one of her Brexit red lines and give the European Court of Justice jurisdiction over data protection laws after the UK has left the EU.
The Commons Exiting the European Union committee said allowing the ECJ’S continued involvement could help secure an ambitious deal on data regulation for the UK.
But Tory committee member Jacob Reesmogg voted against the recommendation and lashed out at the way the cross-party panel had acted, claiming it had become a “partisan tool of those who backed Remain”.
Mr Rees-mogg and fellow Tory Craig Mackinlay voted against the report in its entirety after the ECJ
