Property firm building a brighter future

-

A Scottish property company is tackling a skills shortage in the industry with its own student placement programme.

Springfield Properties launched the scheme two years ago, placing 11 university students in a variety of work experience roles during that time.

As a direct result of these work placements the company has offered full-time employment to five of the student interns, who now work for the firm, or will do so after completing their degree.

Ashleigh Thomson, from Buckie, undertook a placement with the firm before completing her architecture degree at Robert Gordon University.

After graduating in 2017, she joined Springfield in as an architectural technician.

She said: “It is difficult to get a position with a company in your chosen career after graduation if you have no direct experience.

“Springfield provided me with much-needed commercial awareness.”
