Fatal lorry collision investigated by officers
Police are investigating the cause of a pile-up that left a man dead and woman seriously injured.
A man driving a Ford Ranger pick-up with dogs in a trailer and a Suzuki Swift being driven by a 43-year-old woman both collided with a Scania lorry on the A75 in Kirkcudbrightshire.
The man driving the pickup died at the scene, near the Castle Cary Holiday Park at Creetown, at about 2:45am on Saturday.
The woman was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious back injuries.
A 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Suzuki and the 25-yearold male lorry driver were uninjured.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with related dashcam footage to get in touch.
