South of Scotland to receive £7.7m
Four projects in the South of Scotland are to share almost £7.7m, to stimulate economic growth.
The majority of the cash, £6.6 million awarded by the South of Scotland Economic Partnership, has been given to Borders College and Dumfries and Galloway College to create a hub focused on training in care, engineering and construction. Scottish Borders Council will receive £610,000 for a Centre of Excellence in Textiles. Dumfries and Galloway Council will get £250,000.
