Jobs in doubt at restaurant chain

Gaucho is poised to become the latest high street casualty, putting 1,500 jobs in doubt.

The group, which recently opened a flagship restaurant in Edinburgh, and comprises the Gaucho and Cau restaurant chains, has filed a notice to appoint Deloitte as administrators after failing to agree a sale. The filing will give Gaucho protection from its creditors for ten days, but it is expected to fall into administration. gaucho could be salvaged with the 22 Cau restaurants closed for good.
