Learmonth’s message to GB selectors

Guy Learmonth sent out a message to British Athletics selectors with his quickest 800 metres of 2018 in Switzerland last night, writes Mark Woods.

The Borderer was fourth at the Gala dei Castelli meeting in Bellinzona in 1:46.10 in what could be his final outing before the GB & NI team is picked for the European Championships.

Learmonth was spurred on by his failure to receive an invitation to Sunday’s Diamond League meeting in London, which features three of his domestic rivals.

“The amount of times I have to ‘prove’ myself is getting boring now,” said Learmonth.
