Alan Titchmarsh is joined by Katie Rushworth, Frances Tophill and David Domoney to transform the backyards of various deserving folk.

In the first of eight episodes, Alan heads to Fareham near Southampton to surprise 90-year-old Betty Hicks, a life-long volunteer and fundraiser. Betty’s garden is a green-free concrete box – with so many levels and trip hazards – that it’s off limits, so the team set about transforming it into a safe, and sensory haven. Inspired by Betty’s love of vivid colour – which her failing sight can still appreciate – the team create an elegant formal garden that’s brimming with bright shades and clever design touches.
