40-year-old stabbed after altercation

A man has been stabbed after getting into an altercation with a group of men in South Lanarkshire.

The 40-year-old was seriously assaulted in Eider Avenue, East Kilbride at around 5:25pm on Saturday,

He was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated for stab wounds, then later released.

Detective Constable Alan Hamilton has appealed for any information.

He said: “We believe that this was a targeted attack, and officers are carrying out further inquiries in the local area.”
