Dominic Raab said the report of the government planning to stockpile food in the event of an EU no deal was “unhelpful”. Mr Raab didn’t deny the report, but said that the government was preparing for any eventuality.
@faisalislam posted: “When asked by Marr about whether stories about plans to stockpile food for a ‘No Deal’ were correct, Brexit Secretary Raab said it was an unhelpful ‘selective snippet that’s made it into the press’... which suggests Yes.”
@emmabclarke stated: “Oh God. Raab’s on. His combative tone will help him not. He sounds full of Davisesque hubris and bluster. I have a ‘laser-like focus,’ he says. Then about stockpiling food ‘we’re ready for any and every eventuality’.”
@adampayne26 tweeted: “If anything triggers a rise in Remain sentiment, the government telling people to stock up on food and avoid booking flights for summer 2019 might just be it.”
@Paulbranditv quipped: “@Dominicraab going back out to Brussels on Thurs. Within one week he will have spent about half as much time out there as David Davis spent in a whole year.”

Calls have been made for the Scottish Conservative leader, Ruth Davidson, to reveal whether “dark money” was used to fund Scottish Conservative election campaigns.
@Notbowditch stated: “You should watch Ruth Davidson at FMQ, she’s humiliated by Sturgeon on a weekly basis. She has two big issues, she’s not good off script and dreadful under pressure. She’s peaked and her bosses know it.”
@Saoralba59 posted: “Scotland’s democracy is not for sale. Ruth Davidson and the Scottish Tories have a lot to answer over their dark money scandal.” @gregalach added: “Is @ Ruthdavidsonmsp truthful on anything that affects Scotland. Ruth Davidson has gained a reputation of playing fast and loose with the truth. Not a good look and a stain on her character that will remain for the rest of her life.”
@02a57f9de7d4415 added: “I predict that Ruth Davidson will not answer questions on #darkmoney.
“She holds media in poor regard in so far as she refuses to appear on programmes and answer perfectly just and reasonable questions.”
