Dark Blues have room at the top

Having complained about the squad being too unwieldy last season, Dundee fans will now be looking at their player pool and fearing it lacks any strength in depth. It has gone from one extreme to the other.

Neil Mccann has certainly succeeded in getting rid of players he did not see featuring in his side this season. But it has left Dundee looking vulnerable in the event of injury or loss of form.

Perhaps the most glaring weakness is

Aup top. Mccann never quite managed to find the answer last season – Dundee’s total of 36 goals was the second lowest in the league. Sofien Moussa remains their chief hope for goals, and he did not score from open play in the league until April last season. However, other than a disaster against Dunfermline, our Betfred Cup performance gives cause for some guarded enthusiasm and hope for an appearance at Hampden and maybe even top six.
