The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has warned that it will take legal action against the NHS if it does not offer patients awaiting transitioning treatment a chance to have eggs or sperm stored. NHS England said decisions are taken by government ministers. @Carriepaechter posted: “This is an important ruling. Trans people need to be able to store eggs and sperm before treatment. NHS told: give trans patients equal access to fertility service.” @Crichardspsych added: “It is clear discrimination to fund gamete storage for cisgender people who are having treatment which removes reproductive capacity, while also excluding trans specific conditions solely on the basis that they pertain to trans people.”

#BARRYCHUCKLE

Barry Chuckle, one half of comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers, has died aged 73. @Paulchuckle2 wrote: “Paul has asked me to send a message to thank everyone for your lovely messages this morning, he is absolutely devastated so unable to respond himself but your messages really do help and he knows Barry would be so happy to know how much he was loved, Sue X.”

The Rotherham United official Twitter handle @ Officialrufc added: “Everyone at #rufc are deeply saddened this morning to learn of the passing of our life president, supporter and friend Barry ‘Chuckle’ Elliott, aged 73.”

#RANGERS

Steven Gerrard’s first league match as manager of Rangers didn’t get off to the best of starts with Alfredo Morelos receiving a red card just 12 minutes in. @Markbfoot tweeted: “That red card for Morelos is embarrassing for all Scottish football, after all the Ryan Jack stuff last year you’d think the SFA would stop with this. It’s a yellow for both, Mckenna for barging people off the ball and Morelos for reacting. Nothing more. The state of referees.” @Aarongraham03 posted: “That’s 3 times in the last 3 games at Pittodrie we’ve been wronged. First with Ryan Jack’s red card. Next with the penalty Morelos gave away which was never a penalty. And now Morelos has been shown a red card for something that’s a yellow at most.”
