Edinburgh lawyer is Dentons’ women’s advancement director

International law firm Den tons has appointed a Scotland-based partner as its first global women’s advancement director.

Amanda Jones will take on the role while Kate Broer will take on the women’ sbu siness development position at the firm. Jones is an employ- ment partner based in Edinburgh. She joined Den tons in October 2017 as part of its marriage with Maclay Murray & Spens where she was a board member and head of the employment practice.

In addition to her role as co-chair of Dentons’ women’s network in the UK – Inspire – and being a part-time employment judge in Scotland, Jones is a director at Hibernian Football Club and Hibernian Community Foundation.

She is also chair of the Scottish Government advisory board on women and girls in sport.

As women’s advancement director, Jones will focus on the development and progression of women lawyers to partner and leadership positions.

Toronto-based partner Bro er will add the women’s business development responsibilities to her existing role which is focused on client development globally.
