Edinburgh lawyer is Dentons’ women’s advancemen­t director

Internatio­nal law firm Den tons has appointed a Scotland-based partner as its first global women’s advancemen­t director.

Amanda Jones will take on the role while Kate Broer will take on the women’ sbu siness developmen­t position at the firm. Jones is an employ- ment partner based in Edinburgh. She joined Den tons in October 2017 as part of its marriage with Maclay Murray & Spens where she was a board member and head of the employment practice.

In addition to her role as co-chair of Dentons’ women’s network in the UK – Inspire – and being a part-time employment judge in Scotland, Jones is a director at Hibernian Football Club and Hibernian Community Foundation.

She is also chair of the Scottish Government advisory board on women and girls in sport.

As women’s advancemen­t director, Jones will focus on the developmen­t and progressio­n of women lawyers to partner and leadership positions.

Toronto-based partner Bro er will add the women’s business developmen­t responsibi­lities to her existing role which is focused on client developmen­t globally.
