Valuable Burns book bought for £2 gets donated

A historic Robert Burns book bought for £2 at a charity sale has been donated to a Fife library.

Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries have gained the book, The National Burns, and added it to their collection.

Cassie Kennedy made the donation after picking up the item at a Samaritans book sale in Kirkcaldy. The book was first published in 1893 close to the anniversary of the first centenary of the poet’s death in 1796.
