Shifting sands: Horses swap Arabian desert for Portobello beach

Women from the Oman Royal Cavalry’s combined bands, who are performing at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, wear their traditional Arabian dress as they exercise their animals on Portobello beach. Arabian purebred horses which belong to the Sultan of Oman have travelled 5,000 miles from Muscat to join the show.
