Buddy reading project awarded £40,000 funding

A buddy reading project to boost pupils’ literacy in Glasgow has been awarded £40,000.

The funding will see older primary pupils read picture books to younger ones in the scheme focusing on schools in deprived areas.

Scottish Book Trust’s Reading Buddies programme has been awarded £20,000 from the People’s Postcode Trust and the same amount from the Barcapel Foundation.
