Ross County A tweak and a click

- John Maxwell

A comfortable result in the end and a very encouraging second-half performance, but County didn’t have it all their own way. Dunfermline had been scoring goals for fun and had won all their matches before last weekend, and it was apparent straight away that they wanted to play on the front foot.

Louis Longridge played at the tip of the midfield diamond behind a couple of skilful strikers and he enjoyed a very strong opening quarter of the match. A tweak to County’s formation and subsequent goal brought Michael Gardyne to life and the team looked like it was beginning to click, before eventually winning with a bit to spare. Few teams will win by two goals at East End Park this season so it bodes well.
