Apt teachers?

Funding of £350,000 has been announced as part of an action plan to get more parents involved in schools. Deputy First Minister John Swinney set out measures aimed at improving links between home and classroom.

Having dismantled our education system, Swinney is now trying to make it look as though he’s doing something to sort things out.too little, too late.

Ulcerating Soon A cynic might suggest this is a way of blaming someone else (i.e. parents who become involved in making decisions) when things don’t improve.

The Font “This action plan will help cement Scotland’s place as a world leader in parental involvement and engagement, and I look forward to working with a wide range of partners to deliver this plan in the coming three years.” We are no longer a world leader in education thanks to the SNP, however, the SNP are in their own words, “world leaders in parental involvement and engagement” despite the fact they want a named person to oversee your child.

Troo Bloo Lets be positive about this. 350K! BIG BIG money. Er no. Amongst 32 councils that’s about 10 grand each.

Do any SNP policies actually relate to or have any understanding of other policies. So we have parents helping out in schools alongside their children’s state guardians? That will be very interesting considering the amount of intrusion to family life the state guardian will have. Will the state guardians only be intrusive into the lives of children whose parents are not involved?

Another Voice It’ll widen the education gap. Those schools in middle class areas with well educated parents who have spare time will benefit while those with parents who really don’t care will get no help and their kids will sink further behind.
