Higher costs for European holidays, more red tape for exporters and British expats in the EU being cut off from their pensions are among possible consequences of a no deal Brexit, the UK Government has admitted. But Dominic Raab, the Brexit Secretary, insisted the UK would still be better off.

The EU trades more with the UK than the UK trades with the EU. A no deal will see

them suffer more which is why there will be a deal.

Mike Lowery Shop around. If you’re going to get ripped off, shop elsewhere. They’ll soon get the message.

Spot on. Brussels needs an orderly Brexit in the same way as we do.

Adam P Smith So instead of the UK paying into the EU for market regulation and coordination to remove borders and the need for customs across the continent, it will be companies picking up the tab by hiring custom officers, brokers and dealing with red tape, that will in turn be

passed on to the customer. Well done Brexiters, you’ve created problems where none existed.

Obviously with the competent May and cohesive Conservatives in control of the negotiations a deal will be struck that will enable the UK to have all the advantages of the EU and none of the drawbacks.

We shall have Brexit but at a tremendous cost. After the UK retreats from the EU, the headless chickens will come home to roost.

Samuel Coldstream The rip-off has left the barrel already, just walk into any shop and see the daily price rises, nothing to do with Brexit, all to do with good old British greed, it’s a built-in mechanism that kicks in with even a hint of change.

Deep Fried Mars Bar This was what fuelled inflation in the Seventies. It can take on a life of it’s own. I blame Brexit for Celtics lousy performances recently!

Stuart Cowan Just when you think this cannot get any crazier, along comes the clownish Raab with another illustration of why the most incompetent government in a century has got to go. And go soon!

George Kelly No matter what happens, the dying EU will do all it can to make our leaving and its aftermath as awkward and unpleasant as possible. The UK was foolish to join in the first place and we are wise to leave now before the EU sinks entirely under its own overambition and greed.

Apollo_21_pilot No doubt about it. However, some of the biggest dunderheids, whom WE have all met, have gone on to become some of the most successful people.

Samuel Coldstream In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Joan Simpson One is obliged to wonder what generous parents have been purchasing after reading this most unfortunate confession.

Stuart The biggest problem is the misguided belief we are all born equal. The fact is we are not and until that is recognised and accepted some will fall through the net and not achieve potential.
