Generation gap

-

Conservative MP Jacob Rees-mogg said Scotland should be allowed to hold a second referendum on independence – but not for around 20 years.

For once I agree with Jacob. Nearly. I’d go for 30 years – closer to a “generation”.

Scotspat A generation is exactly what the SNP said there should be between referendums – before ignoring democracy after a democratic vote.

Mike Lowery Hey Mike... you do know (or are you STILL in denial) that the independencesupporting community is much larger than the Snpsupporting community.

Henry Hooper We should have a regular referendum on whether we want another referendum.

Uncle Monty Scotland doesn’t “desire” another referendum, a few might, the majority don’t

want another rammy so soon after the last one.

Bea.sutherland I though the SNP plan was to have one every third Thursday of the month, ignore all the No votes and if there is a Yes result, cancel the regular date and call that result the “Settled Will” of the Scottish people.

Spooked

Unionists are clearly getting desperate if they are falling back on the “Once in a generation” argument again. Everyone knows it was a figure of speech and has no political nor legal basis.

Dickie Tea My word is my bond unless I decide it is not. I mean what I say but not always. Figure of speech? How funny you are.

I Know You Know Scotland should make it’s own decisions. Jacob doesn’t, he just appears to think every other nation should.

jbp101 But Scotland does make its own decisions. The Scottish people decided on independence, they got the same vote as everyone else in the UK, NI and Gibraltar, they have an assembly in Holyrood for devolved matters and constituencies the same size as others around the UK sending MPS to Westminster. Not exactly not making decisions for themselves, is it?

Another Voice JRM for PM... Scotland’s silent majority are right behind you Jacob.
