Woman taken to hospital after serious attack

A woman has been seriously injured in an assault.

The 53-year-old was attacked in Ibrox Street, Glasgow, at about 9am on Sunday.

She was being treated yesterday at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for injuries to her face and upper body and is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

The suspect is white, around 5ft 8in and stocky with receding brown hair. He was wearing a green anorak and grey jogging trousers.

Police have appealed for witnesses or information.
