Relaunch for mobile app firm

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

A web and mobile app developer that has worked with the likes of Merlin Entertainment, Diageo and Network Rail, has today announced a major relaunch that includes a move to new offices to accommodate its larger headcount.

Dogfish Mobile, which was established in 2009, is becoming Vidatec, following its multi-million-pound acquisition by Dundee-based Insights Group in June last year.

It will relocate to new offices in Stirling Innovation Park, four times larger than its current base, coinciding with a 40 per cent leap in headcount over the past year.

Vidatec will focus on health and wellbeing, social good, and a better working world, and is targeting global growth with new operations in India and the US, which will be supported by several strategic hires in those regions.

Chief executive Greig Johnston, former chief technology officer at Insights Group, said: “The business has been able to capitalise on the huge demand we now see for mobile technology by developing truly innovative applications to service these needs. We want to build on those existing skills to help drive the business forward under a more defined proposition.”

Polly Purvis, chief executive of Scotlandis, said: “Under the new leadership, the plans for Vidatec are seriously exciting and we’re looking forward to seeing the company go from strength to strength.”
