He takes up the role of independent financial adviser. Melrose joins Mccreas from NFU Mutual, where he served as a financial adviser. Prior to that he held senior positions with a number of leading financial services companies. The appointment completes a period of staff growth for the independent financial services company, following the appointment of Ashleigh Beck (paraplanner), Emily Bett (paraplanning support) and Carley Mearns (marketing assistant) to our team in recent months.
● Colin Hamilton, a partner at Scottish legal firm Gillespie Macandrew, has become a solicitor advocate. He will be able to represent both individuals and companies in the higher civil courts, such as the Court of Session and Supreme Court. Hamilton joins partner John Stirling in giving the firm’s clients access to solicitor advocate services. Having qualified as a solicitor in 2008, Hamilton was promoted to partner in 2017.

● The Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation has announced a second key appointment to its new leadership team. Anne Anderson will join the industry body in the newly-created post of director of sustainability. She will develop and coordinate an industry strategy for sustainable business to support responsible growth. Anderson will champion industry best-practice in farming excellence and fish health as well as supporting the industry to deliver on its commitments.
