Human remains found at student residence
Bones found in the grounds of a student residence in Edinburgh have been confirmed as human remains.
Police said the bones discovered close to Edinburgh University’s Pollock Halls had been in the ground for a “considerable period of time”.
Officers were called to the scene after a student resident found the remains on Wednesday.
They are reviewing all relevant missing person investigations.
A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are continuing to determine their origin.”
