#RYDERCUP
Golf ’s bi-annual intercontinental blockbuster got under way, as the underdogs of Team Europe took on the well-fancied Team USA in the Ryder Cup at Le Golf National on the outskirts of Paris.
@Pepperreleddie posted: “Matchplay is certainly not a putting contest around Le Golf National in the wind! It’s primarily about pure ball striking. That’s why Europe is about to hand out a 4-0 foursomes session...”
@Nickdixonitv reported: “The early risers at the #Rydercup2018 are ready for tee off – 270,000 fans expected over the next few days.”
@Hatfieldanne joked: “The Ryder Cup is being played in France at Le Golf National, which sounds exactly like anamewe’dmakeupfora French golf course.”
@Johnhuggan said: “Point to ponder .... as the crowds get bigger at the Ryder Cup so does the number of nongolfing morons. And with no one in authority seemingly bothered by that fact as the money rolls in, things are only going to get worse.”
@Gctigertracker tweeted: “Tiger’s career #Rydercup record now goes to a mindboggling 13-18-3 (5-9 in fourball). Amazing to me that the best player in history can’t figure out the
secret to these team events.”
#SNPDAYOFACTION
Members of the SNP are set to take to the streets of Scotland today for a planned ‘day of action’ in a bid to increase support for independence. The party plans to speak to around 50,000 people as they continue to push for another vote on Scotland’s constitutional future.
@Stirling_tories hit out: “This year, 500,000 Scottish #pensioners are missing out on their recommended flu jab, after the #Scottish Government failed to prepare for this winter. The SNP can find time for their Day of Action, but not to adequately prepare the NHS.”
@Happybritscot joked: “‘Knock door and run fast” will probably how the SNP claim to have had 50,000 ‘conversations’ about #indyref2 during the SNP ‘day of action’ tomorrow.”
@Stevesayersone agreed: “Theresa May says the SNP should focus on issues that matter – & stop bleating on about #indyref2. Hopefully the majority of Scots will tell them this on Saturday’s SNP ‘Day of Action’.”
@Mhairihunter advised: “If you’re new to the SNP this will be a great opportunity to get involved (if you want to) and learn about campaigning.”
