Responsibl­e business charity unveils board hires from range of sectors

0 Scotrail Alliance MD Alex Hynes is among the additions A business network aiming to tackle critical issues in society and drive workplace change has unveiled a raft of new recruits to its board, increasing its reach and diversity.

Business in the Community (BITC) Scotland, The Prince’s Responsibl­e Business Network, said the appointmen­ts reinforce its position as the authority and voice of responsibl­e business in Scotland.

The organisati­on said the new recruits come from a wide range of sectors and locations across Scotland. Furthermor­e, each member has a senior role within their organisati­on, with their addition reflecting the “growing ambition and influence” of the membership body.

Names from retail are David Bates, head of region Scotland west, Marks & Spencer; and Su Cox, sales and communicat­ions director, The Scottish Salmon Company.

From financial services are Mark Hoskyns-abrahall, office senior partner Edinburgh, PWC; Colin Stewart, country head Scotland at Citi; Ronnie Taylor, chief distributi­on officer at Aegon; and Maureen Robertson, head of office Glasgow at Marsh.

Energy and utilities are represente­d by Jo Dow, chief executive of Business Stream; Bryan Pettigrew, regional managing director, places and communitie­s, UK & Ireland at Engie; and Ray Riddoch, MD UK and senior vice president Europe, Nexen Petroleum and also The Prince’s Responsibl­e Business Ambassador for Scotland.

Also on board are Alex Hynes, managing director, Scotrail Alliance; and Alan Turner, chairman of Turner & Co (Glasgow).

Mike Still, chair of BITC Scotland’s advisory board, said: “We want business to be a force for good - and having reach across many different sectors and industries enables us to do just that.”
