- By HANNAH BURLEY

Flicq, a California-headquartered tech company, has launched a subsidiary in Aberdeen to expand its European growth.

It is the industrial internet of things (IIOT) provider’s first office this side of the Atlantic, which will allow the firm to better serve its clients in Europe.

Flicq creates remote sensing platforms to improve operating efficiency in oil and gas, mining and transportation systems.

Roddy Urquhart, a veteran of the electronics industry, will join Flicq UK as managing director.

Chief executive Karthik Rau said: “Having already seen strong interest for our remote sensing solution in the oil and gas sector, Aberdeen was a logical location for our office.”
