Rescued: Tiny hedgehog found by roadside finds comfort with soft toy

The Scotsman - - Around Scotland -

A three-week-old hedgehog cuddles up to an adult size hedgehog soft toy at Hessilhead Wildlife Centre, Beith.

The little one weighs only 160g and needs to reach 700g before being released back into the wild. The hedgehog was among one of two rescued from the roadside.

The tiny hedgehogs which were brought in are nicknamed ‘autumn juveniles’ due to the birth late in the season.
