Claims bypass could cost ‘millions more’
The delayed Aberdeen bypass could cost builders “hundreds of millions” of pounds more than the contract signed with the Scottish Government, it has been claimed.
The £745 million 28-mile bypass was approved by Scottish ministers in 2009. There have been issues with bridge construction. Labour MSP Lewis Macdonald said the gap between what the government is paying and what it is costing to build is a ninefigure sum. Transport Secretary Michael Matheson said he held a “constructive” meeting with Aberdeen Roads on Thursday.
