Ken Currie: Ciaradh/ Nocturne
Taigh Chearsabhagh launches its Stormfest programme with an exhibition by Ken Currie, who has been a regular visitor to the island for the past ten years. Currie is one of Scotland’s most evocative figurative painters, and these new paintings, etchings and monotypes harness a particular kind of northern light and imagination which draws on island customs and traditions. On a dark night, there’s nothing like a good story – as Currie puts it “not always the comforting kind”.
