Trump rained off

-

US president Donald Trump has come under fire increasing criticism for cancelling a Remembrance weekend visit to a cemetery in France on Saturday due to rain.

I thought it was the miller in Trumpton who was supposed to be windy.

8thrawn2 Picture the scene. Sanctimonious establishment figures with acquired medals stuck on their chest, hypocritical politicians like Blair with ashen faces, pious men of ‘religion’ spouting about past glories. And all the while encouraging future conflict in a dangerous world.

Nay War

They’re not all sanctimonious or hypocritical.

Harold Macmillan spent ten hours wounded in a trench feigning death to hide from the enemy and reading Aeschylus in Greek to keep his spirits up. Donald Trump missed a war memorial because of the rain.

The man who had six medical deferments to save him from being blown up by the Viet Cong. The sixth medical deferment, a bone spur in his foot, led to his name being removed from the NY military draft. Trump’s foot complaint miraculously healed itself?

Sums it all up, really: selfish, egotistical billionaire can’t commute due to rain, lol. And people wonder why politicians have no credibility or sense of shame. He will see this as another chance to attack the media and blame fake news; in reality he is a fake president who would appear to be the “rain option” mentioned in the article.

CGM 63 This American president will not be commemorated; commiserations to the families of US war dead – your fallen deserved better.

Donna Campbell I wonder if the soldiers he was there to honour would have liked the luxury of calling things off when there was a little rain?

BUNG car instead. Then I thought that it might be because of the security risk that would be involved.

Not a lemming

Snowflake president; demonstrates he’s only interested in himself and not the sacrifice of others.

The honored dead of Belleau Wood are better off without The Donald.

Over the Ocean World Cup and set them up nicely for the greater challenges to come – with the Springboks next up.

It is easy to get carried away. Last week was a real test. Scotland lost against a very similar Welsh side to the one that beat them last time out. Wales played in an identical manner and Scotland had no answer. Fiji lost as a result of disciplinary failures. Serious contenders like South Africa and the ABS will not make these errors and will surely play the referee.

Antoine Bisset Sensational second half and some excellent performances all round. We have unearthed a muchneeded gem in Skinner, while Ritchie has quickly come of age in a position where Scotland is truly blessed. This was also redemption for a number of players: great to see Tommy back to his full powers; Strauss restored to where he belongs as our rampaging eight; and even the muchmaligned Harris had some good touches.

Good result – you can’t argue with a 30+ point margin against a team that are always dangerous if they get ball in open play. Some good performances all round the park. I thought Ritchie was good – better than I had thought in the past. Likewise good to see Strauss back in action. Definitely a different test next week against SA.

Great game from Scotland, especially the second half. Good to see Strauss back and going forwards, great debut from Skinner, and Ritchie played well also. Thought things moved a bit better when Horne Jnr came on at 9, but who would not play Laidlaw, he is just our best captain. The backs looked good and Harris finally looked good also.
