Tributes have been posted online to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee – co-creator of the likes of the Fantastic Four, Spider-man and the Hulk – who has died aged 95. Our obituary is on page 43.

@Sabercat_yt tweeted: “I’m going to miss his random appearances in the Marvel movies.”

@Laurencurtisart added: “So sad! What an icon! At least he lived to see his creations come to life & to remain a big part of them! RIP Stan!”

@Morewhit posted: “Stan’s, Jack Kirby’s, Steve Ditko’s contribution to American culture & the empowerment of the readers is unparalled!”

@j_oneal1989 wrote: “I salute you Mr Lee for touching the hearts of billions on this earth. You changed countless lives and stand as one of the most influential and impactful figures of all time. Rest easy Generalissimo, Excelsior.”

@Danawith3 stated: “We’ll see him in Avengers 4 because they wrapped up filming in October, thank God.”

@drivingnseattle replied: “To live to 95, and to have the life he’s lived, we could all be so fortunate.”

#DAVIDSCHWIMMER

Police in Lancashire thanked David Schwimmer for his support after they arrested a man on suspicion of theft. Last month, many pointed out that the man in the police’s video appeal resembled the Friends actor. Schwimmer then responded with a video of his own.

@BBCNWT added: “Remember the ‘Friends’ beer theft story? Police have now arrested the David Schwimmer lookalike in Southall, London. He’s being questioned on suspicion of theft from a shop in Blackpool. The American actor tweeted his own image of the incident and told police ‘It wasn’t me!’ ”

@Lancspolice posted: “Following the appeal we posted looking for a man who resembles a wellknown actor, we now have an update. Thanks to our colleagues @Metpoliceuk, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Southall last night on suspicion of theft. Thank you for the support, especially @Davidschwimmer!”

@mmchugh5 joked: “You’re in the clear @Davidschwimmer”

@Elizabe71305907 commented: “You know they say there is a twin for everyone somewhere in the world! I guess David Schwimmer found his twin!”
