Beattie named player of year

Scotland defender Jen Beattie won the Women’s Player of the Year prize at the Northwest Football Awards. The Manchester City player beat off competition from Liverpool’s Laura Coombs, Everton’s Angharad James, Fylde Ladies’ Jenna Carroll and Burnley’s Sarah Greenhalgh. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was Manager of the Year.
