Two-game ban offered to Menga

-

Livingston striker Dolly Menga has been offered a two-game ban after allegedly aiming a headbutt at Celtic forward Ryan Christie.

The Angolan was caught on camera motioning his head into the face of the Celtic player during Sunday’s 0-0 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena. The incident was missed by referee Keven Clancy but Menga has now been handed a fast track notice of complaint from Scottish Football Association compliance officer Clare Whyte.

It is understood Livingston will not appeal the decision, which will mean Menga will miss the next two games against Rangers and Motherwell.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said after the game: “I thought he gestured his head towards Ryan and, when I saw it after the game, it was actually more aggressive than I thought.”
