Celebrating: Nehru’s birthday marked by day to safeguard India’s children
Children in India wait to perform on the birthday of the country’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, at his ancestral home, Anand Bhawan, in Allahabad. Nehru’s birthday – he was born on 14 November 1889,– is celebrated as Children’s Day. It aims to raise awareness of the rights, care and education of youngsters.
