More children get access to childcare early

-

Around 322 children have been able to access 1,140 hours of early learning and childcare facilities across Falkirk two years ahead schedule.

The Scottish Government aims to increase free childcare from 600 to 1,140 hours per year by 2020. In two years’ time it is hoped 4,136 children will have access to the extra hours of early learning education.

A report regarding children’s health and wellbeing and attainment levels within the local area will be made public on the council’s website. Councillor Laura Murtagh said: “It is a work in progress.”
